What is Tea Runners?
Tea Runners is the world's finest tea club. Our members receive a curated collection of four of the world's best loose leaf teas, along with tasting notes and brewing instructions, delivered to their door.
We offer a choice of four boxes and a choice of three delivery schedules.
Our buying power gives us the ability to bring you the finest teas for a very affordable cost. We figure if you're going to drink tea, drink the best teas in the world.
We ship internationally with USPS and within Canada via Canada Post.
How Subscriptions work
Your First Box
We only have a certain number of boxes available every month. Please see the sign up pages for info on when your first box will ship. If we are sold out of boxes that month, your first box will ship the following month.
We recommend that you do not delay signing up if we have sold out of the current month. You run the risk of missing the following month as well.
Follow Up Boxes
Regular monthly shipments are made on the first week of the month. Billing for recurring subscriptions happens on the 16th of the previous month.
Example: You are billed on April 16th for the May box, which ships the first week of May.
All memberships are recurring
'Monthly' subscriptions recur every month. '3 Month' subscriptions recur every 3 months. '6 Month' subscriptions recur every 6 months. The date of your next renewal is displayed in your account.
Can I receive tea every other month instead of monthly?
Yes. We also offer bi-monthly and tri-monthly subscription options.
If you are on a Monthly Membership plan you can login to your account, click 'EDIT' under 'Your Subscription(s)' and click SKIP NEXT RENEWAL.
Here's how cancellations work:
Essentially, a cancellation means that your account will not renew when the 1 month, 3 month, or 6 month term is up. It does not mean that you have been refunded or that your next shipment(s) has been cancelled.
Example 1: Cancelling a Monthly Membership
You signed up for a Monthly membership for $25. A day or so later, you cancel. In this case you have not been refunded and your shipment has not been cancelled. You have been billed for 1 box and you will be shipped 1 box. Since you cancelled your membership, you will not be billed again or shipped anything again.
Example 2: Cancelling a 3-Month or 6-Month Membership
You signed for a 6-Month membership at $127.50. At some point, whether it be a day later or 3 months later, you cancel. You have still been billed for a full 6 month membership and you are still going to receive all 6 months worth of tea. Cancelling only prevents your membership from renewing when the membership cycle is complete.
NOTE: If your intention is to try Tea Runners for a finite amount of time - in other words, you don't want your subscription to renew - it's better to purchase a non-renewing gift rather than cancelling a recurring subscription.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you purchase a 6 month subscription and decide to cancel after 2 months, and you do not want any more boxes and ask for your money back, you will be refunded at the rate of a Monthly subscription.

How Billing Works
When you sign up for Tea Runners you are billed right away. If we have the current month's box available, we will ship you one right away. If not, you will receive your first box the following month. The shipment date of your first box will be indicated on the sign up page for that box.
Regular monthly shipments are made on the first week of the month. Billing for the regular monthly shipments is done on the 16th of the previous month. For example, if you are signed up for a monthly recurring membership, you will be billed on March 16th for the April box which ships the first week of April.

About the Tea
How much tea do I get?
Every box comes with 4 pouches of tea and each pouch contains roughly 0.6 - 1.25 oz of tea. This is enough to make 30-50 cups of tea, depending on the types of tea and how strong you like it. You can also steep most of these teas more than once, so realistically you could stretch it to 60+ cups of tea.
Are the teas organic?
We label which of our teas are USDA Certified Organic where we can. Almost all of our teas are USDA Certified Organic when we buy them from our suppliers and we repackage them in a certified organic facility. However, we cannot label them as USDA Certified Organic unless each tea is individually certified for Tea Runners. We ship up to 14 different teas a month and approval can take weeks, so it doesn't fit very easily with our tight deadlines for packaging and production.
In short, our teas are organic but our business model makes it very hard to get the certification on our label.
Can I customize my Tea Runners box?
We offer 4 different boxes to choose from so that you can get more of the kinds of tea you love. We send an email every month notifying our members what's coming next month, and we are happy to make substitutions for allergy concerns or personal preference.
Shipping is FREE. We use USPS standard ground shipping. US boxes have tracking. Your box should arrive within 1-3 days.
Shipping is FREE. We ship via Canada Post from Vancouver, BC. It usually takes 4-14 days to arrive anywhere in the country. Tracking is not available.
Add $8 per box for shipping to anywhere else in the world. Shipped via USPS. Tracking is available to the following list of countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Can I gift Tea Runners to a friend?
Yes. Simply select the GIFT option on the checkout page. Gifting works exactly the same way as regular memberships, although the gift-giver is the owner of the account, not the gift-recipient.
Gift accounts have some limited functionality compared to normal accounts. For example, you cannot update your account to renew unless you contact us.
